Fianna Fáil’s Malcolm Byrne says Ireland lags behind other countries in regulating artificial intelligence and tackling disinformation
The Electoral Commission will need to be empowered to address deep fakes and disinformation which are likely to be a part of the coming election in 2024, a Fianna Fáil senator has said.
Malcolm Byrne called again for the establishment of a special Oireachtas Committee on artificial intelligence (AI) and warned that Ireland was falling behind in regulating AI.
