Mary O’Connor

As the Chief Information Officer at ESB, Mary leads the organisation’s digital transformation, overseeing cybersecurity, IT strategy, and enterprise architecture. She is responsible for the portfolio management of IT, digital and analytics work and is a champion of driving business transformation through the application of data and technology and digital ways of working. With over 30 years of experience across various disciplines and functions within ESB, Mary has a proven track record of developing and implementing strategies, motivating teams, and enhancing business performance through innovation and technology. She has successfully led teams at all organisational levels, collaborating with internal and external partners to drive transformation. Mary holds an IT degree from Trinity College and an ACCA post-graduate diploma in Accounting and Finance. She is also a coach and mentor, passionate about helping individuals reach their full potential. Additionally, Mary serves on the Audit & Risk Committee of St. James Hospital, Dublin.
