Dr Sheelagh Brady is a globally recognised security analyst, with over 25 years of experience in policing, intelligence, and high-risk environments. She is the Co-Founder and Commercial Lead of Kowroo, a safety technology company transforming travel risk management through real-time, personalised risk modelling. Built from an Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Grant and in collaboration with leading academics at Dublin City University, Kowroo uses machine learning, behavioural analytics, and scalable cloud architecture to give organisations a modern, science-driven approach to duty of care.
Before entering the technology sector, Sheelagh spent 14 years in An Garda Síochána, before going on to service on to serve as a senior security analyst with the EU and UN in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Libya, and Nigeria, specialising in organised crime, terrorism, radicalisation, and rule of law.
Sheelagh brings a strong academic foundation to her STEM leadership. She holds a PhD from Dublin City Universityon persuasion logic and visual recruitment strategies of violence organisations, along with master’s degrees from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, NYC and University College London. A published author and frequent speaker at EU and NATO forums, she also co-founded the Irish Security Series.
Today, Sheelagh’s mission is to fuse deep security expertise with cutting-edge AI, reshaping how organisations understand safety and empowering individuals through technology.
