Aisling Burke is a science and computer science educator at the Sacred Heart School, where she has been teaching since 2019. Aisling began her academic journey studying Pharmaceutical Science at Waterford Institute of Technology, completing a four-year degree that laid the foundation for her strong scientific and analytical background. She went on to work as a Quality Control Specialist at Bulmers, gaining valuable industry experience in laboratory processes, quality systems, and regulatory standards.

Driven by a passion for education, Aisling later returned to academia to complete a Master’s in Education at Maynooth University. She joined the teaching staff at the Sacred Heart School in 2019, where she and colleague Sindy co-founded the SHS STEMinists — a club dedicated to empowering young women through hands-on STEM learning, innovation, and creativity.

Under Aisling and Sindy’s leadership, the SHS STEMinists has grown from strength to strength, becoming a flagship initiative within the school. In 2025, the club made history by bringing the first all-female Irish robotics team to the VEX World Championships. Their team not only competed on the global stage but also brought home the prestigious Judges Award.
