Freshta Ibrahimi is an Afghan mountaineer and refugee currently living in the UK, as well as the inspiring leader of The Unstoppable Project. This initiative empowers refugees and asylum seekers—particularly women—through outdoor adventures, fostering healing, connection, and resilience in nature. Freshta began her mountaineering journey in Afghanistan, where she managed the first group of Afghan women mountaineers for four years. She has climbed across various regions in Afghanistan and recently expanded her achievements by summiting 6,000-meter peaks in Nepal, hiking to Everest Base Camp, and training in the Alps. In spring 2025, Freshta is set to undertake a historic climb as the first Afghan woman refugee to summit Mount Everest. Her journey symbolizes hope, resilience, and empowerment for refugees worldwide, while showcasing the strength and determination of women through The Unstoppable Project.
